POD 2.0 Recording Amp Review
The POD 2.0 by Line 6 is a multi-effects device which can be used in both
recording and in live performance. It can plug into your
computer or into an amp. It also has a headphone jack so you
won't upset the neighbors. The POD emulates 32 classic guitar
amp tones; including Marshall, Fender, Vox and Mesa Boogie. It
has 10 knobs which control:
1. Output Level
2. Drive
3. Bass
4. Mids
5. Treble
6. Channel Volume
7. Reverb
8. Effects Tweak
9. Amp Models (32 in all)
10. Effects (16 in all)
The various tones it offers is simply amazing. Most notable
is the distortion, and a very convincing tube sound.
The POD also comes with the powerful Emagic™ SoundDiver™
software, available for both PC and Mac. The software serves as
a POD control panel, which allows you to access extra features,
including 12 additional amp models. A MIDI interface is
required.
The POD is a very inexpensive solution to recording music in
different tones, instead of using amplifiers which would cost
thousands of dollars. It is very easy to use, and a lot of fun.
In fact, it can be very addicting. Once you start experimenting
with it, you will not be able to put it down. The different
tones you can achieve will inspire you.
